Wrestling shoes have a few key qualities that you should look for: Lightweight, flexibility, sole grip and ankle support. These qualities generally improve the higher up the price scale you go, but again, as beginners, you shouldn’t be concerned with getting the best shoes ever; you should be concerned with getting the best shoes for yourself at your current skill level. There are many quality shoes with modest price points that are built to be both durable and effective as a wrestler grows from beginner to intermediate levels.
After initially teased in collaboration with Undercover, the Element React 87 became one of the most highly anticipated sneakers of the summer. The shoe combines the sole tech of the React with an innovative translucent upper that reflects some subtler trends in the sneaker industry. The shoes have only released in the black and white versions, each selling out whip quick. Expect Nike to roll out a ton more colorways of this sneaker. Nike has been hurting for a win like this. They finally got it.

The outdoor shoe came back with a vengeance this year, and that's in large part thanks to Kith's ongoing partnership with Adidas' Terrex brand. They released a slew of kicks, but our favorite is this TR Boost EEA. We love these because they straddle the line between an ostentatious outdoorsy shoe and a more digestible streetwear look. The classic Ronnie Fieg colors of navy and salmon pink appear all over the shoe, with a rugged sole that makes them work just as well on a hike as they do on Lafayette Street. 
Men’s leather sandals the footwear for a holiday, take a break from the monotony of formal shoes and sneakers. Let your feet breathe when you’re out on vacation, make your pick between tan leather sandals, men’s black sandals or go in for a modern shade of soft grey. Men’s leather sandals can be worn with either shorts or long trousers, while the classic blue denim is the ideal partner for men's leather sandals but if you wish to wear long trousers make sure you fold them up till the ankle and best stay away from the loose gathers look.

This depends on personal preference as well, but many elite-level wrestlers prefer a snug fit. However, if your feet are still growing, leaving a bit of growing room is a good idea. When you’re trying on wrestling shoes, keep in mind brand-size recommendations. For example, Asics and adidas recommend trying on a shoe one-half size larger than your street shoe while Nike recommends going a full size larger. 
Flips: If lying low is the goal, a stan­dard pair of flip flops, or thongs, can’t be beat. A pair slips on and off in sec­onds, packs easy and weighs lit­tle. In terms of com­fort, leather flips are tough to beat after some break­ing in but they can become slick when wet. Rub­ber top soles don’t com­pare com­fort-wise, but are more util­i­tar­i­an.
